SCENAR Professional Workshop in Sydney

We had a great practical day this Sunday with eight SCENAR Practitioners from Sydney and Melbourne – occupational therapist, naturopathic doctor, nurses, myotherapists and ophthalmologist.

Vera gave valuable insights about the Collar Zone Level 1 protocol linking it with the meridian lines on the body. She also presented some Sport Injuries techniques with spaced electrodes for joints pain as well as eye protocols.

The attendees were able practice most of the techniques and also updated their knowledge with the latest treatment guidelines by the manufacturer of SCENAR – RITM OKB ZAO.

The beautiful Harbor Bridge View from the training room did not distract us and the food in the hotel was very yummy.

Our next in our series of workshops – Mackay 20th of August.

SCENAR Professional Workshop in Byron Bay

It was lovely to catch up with SCENAR Practitioners last week in Byron Bay during the Professional SCENAR Practical workshop.

We all had the chance to refresh our knowledge about some fundamental SCENAR Protocols such as 3+6 and their importance in the treatment outcome. Vera  presented also a quick and very effective protocol for back pain from the 2017 SCENAR Conference followed by practicing it to each other. Instant pain relief and improved range of motion was the result of the treatments that we gave to each other.

Along with a sport Injuries protocol and questions and answers session, the attendees gained a new enthusiasm to practice their new knowledge with their clients.

Our next in our series of workshops – Sydney 6th of August, Harbourvew Hotel North Sydney.

SCENAR Therapy – PhD thesis and research

The first in Europe PhD thesis in the field of SCENAR therapy.

On 29th of June, after several years of research of applying SCENAR therapy method, Dr. Carlos Udina Carlos Udina Cortes presented his PhD Thesis ‘Effects of neuroadaptive regulation therapy on central sensizitation’.

The presentation took place at the Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Medicine, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain.

In terms of the research, randomized double blind placebo controlled study of application of SCENAR therapy in patients with fibromyalgia had been conducted. The research produced statistically significant results in pain relief and reduced fibromyalgia symptoms.

As far as we are aware this PhD thesis is the first in Europe, based on the studies of SCENAR device application. The results of this research will widen the list of indications for SCENAR devices.

With all the warmth of our hearts, we congratulate Dr. Carlos Udina for the successful presentation of his PhD thesis and wish him every success in his future scientific endeavors!

We will publish the research as soon as it becomes available in English language.

A randomized study shows SCENAR is superior than TENS for pain relief

A new randomized controlled study demonstrates that SCENAR therapy is a more effective and safe method of treating patients with neck pain following whiplash compared with TENS.

Abstract

Objective

Self-Controlled Energo-Neuro-Adaptive Regulator (SCENAR) device was introduced in 2006 as an alternative electrotherapy for pain in Korea. The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of SCENAR standing for SCENAR in patients with subacute neck pain following a rear-end collision.

Methods

A randomized and controlled prospective study was conducted on 60 patients with neck pain following rear-end collision between the ages of 20 to 50 years. Written informed consent was obtained and participants were randomly allocated to transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and SCENAR therapy. The treatment regimen included 20-min treatment sessions for 4 weeks (3 times per week). Therapeutic effects were evaluated at each of the assessment points (0, 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks) using a visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores and neck disability index (NDI) scores.

Results

Eligible participants (n=70) were recruited between March 2014 and July 2015. Final trial sample (n=60) compromised 32 within the SCENAR group and 28 TENS group. The SCENAR group showed superior pain reduction compared with TENS (SCENAR: initial mean VAS score; 6.3, final mean VAS score; 2.1, TENS: initial mean VAS score; 6.2, final mean VAS score; 3.7). Sixteen week NDI scores showed the disability level of the SCENAR group (9.5) was significantly lower than that of the TENS group (14.3).

Conclusion

SCENAR therapy provided a significant reduction in the intensity of neck pain (VAS) and disability (NDI) compared with TENS group. SCENAR therapy is superior to the TENS therapy in reducing and disability for whiplash injury.

Equine SCENAR launch at EQUITANA!

We have had an amazing response to Equine SCENAR, treating many human clients in pain to give them a taste of what SCENAR can do for them and their horses!

Days 1 & 2 – Vera, Elly, Mel and Anna have been busy treating EQUITANA patrons to give them a taste of how SCENAR can quickly remove pain by helping the body heal itself…hoping we get a chance to treat a horse or two! If you have a horse at EQUITANA, please get one of us down to give you a demo on your horse! #equineSCENAR

RITM Australia would like to thank those SCENAR clients that gave testimonials for the EQUITANA posters. They look fantastic and have drawn many curious clients to our booth.

The Equine SCENAR Team would like to thank all the patrons and helpers we had on our stand at EQUITANA.

It was great to meet some new clients and be able to help out so many people with their pain!

We had complete strangers come and tell us of their experiences and success with SCENAR….there are some amazing stories out there!

We had an absolute blast and will be back next time!!

Please take advantage of our EQUITANA specials that will be valid until 15 December 2016!
